Emma Stakelum

Emma is a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist. She tailors treatment to the unique subjectivity of each individual, inviting patients to speak freely and providing a safe and confidential space in which unconscious material can emerge. She views psychoanalytic psychotherapy as a valuable treatment for those seeking insight into their suffering, as well as for anyone interested in exploring their own subjectivity.

She has worked in a variety of settings, including university student counselling services, addiction day programmes, and community mental health services. In addition, she maintains a private practice, seeing patients individually for psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

Emma began her academic training with a BA in Linguistics from UCD, where she developed an early interest in the relationship between language and the unconscious. She then completed an MA in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, undertaking placements in a range of clinical settings, and further advanced her skills through a continual training programme at the Freud-Lacan Institute.
