After a 20 year long marketing career, Nicola retrained in the areas of food and nutrition, an underlying passion. Having initially founded a children and teen cookery school, her interest to understand more about food and its relationship to health and disease took her along the path of functional medicine. She went on to qualify as a Nutritional Therapist opening her nutrition practice ‘The Food Clinic” in 2019. Nutritional Therapists aim to explore the root cause of a client’s symptoms having considered a wide range of factors including background, genetics, lifestyle factors and diet. Nicola works with adults, children and teens to help them optimise their health. She has a particular interest in supporting people in the following areas: family nutrition, heart health, type 2 diabetes, sugar cravings, gut health, intolerances/allergies and weight management. She can also support clients with therapeutic diets when these are suitable (including fodmaps, low carb, keto, fasting etc.). Personalised meal plans (using Nutritics software) are also offered for those wanting more control or guidance with their macros and/or calorie intake.
